I choose Flax because it is an important Ancient crop in Scotland and was used widely in the production of linen for clothes. After reading about Innovative farmers, who were growing heritage crops including Flax at Lauriston Farm Market in Edinburgh, I visited the site to take photographs and collect samples to paint. It was delightful to find a local initiative that is focussing on heritage crops. I also enjoyed a demonstration of the end products made from Flax.
